Came back last night from the Vancouver blogger meetup. And now the requisite links to all those who were there: Colene, Derrick, Greg, Heather, Lauren, Mark, Paul, Pinder, Rich, Ritchie, Steve, Tina.
Woohoo! Well there were lots of other people there...but I don't remember their URLs. I'll post them up later. Lots of fun and lots of cool people. Haven't laughed that much since I ate breakfast!
My cheeks hurt from laughing. I'm off to bed.
Ok ok. I haven't been updating lately. So what gives? I could say that I was recruited by a pack of super-genius monkeys for a top secret experiment in the South China Seas for the past three weeks. Or I could just tell y'all the truth.
The real reason? Work, work and work. I've actually been driving into work onsite these days so that has cut my distractions of IMing and blogging down to a minimum. It also means I have to wake up at a decent hour which requires sleeping at a decent hour. Ah yes. The mundane life cycle of the worker bee. I remember doing that before.
Sigh.
At least the office has air conditioning. Lovely air conditioning. Oh how I would like to elope with you to my home. *Hugs air conditioning control unit mounted on wall*
Which brings me to my next point. The weather has been blazing hot these past days. Ok sure we don't have the humidity of other cities, but I can't handle my heat. So lately I've been escaping the heat in the evenings by retreating to the cool confines of our basement. Thanks to the subpar insulation (none whatsoever) and pure concrete construction (circa 1960s), our basement feels like a meat locker throughout the seasons. Ah yes...you could say it's a prime 'feature' of the house. But really, sarcasm aside, I've gotta admit I'm thankful for it.
So while I'm down there, not having much else to do (READ: no laptop with wireless Internet), I've been reading books. Ah yes. Reading. I remember doing that before.
Heh.
I have this bad habit of starting several books at once and never finishing any of them. So currently I've started reading a Tom Clancy novel, a book on Korean history, another book on theology, and a self improvement book on the topic of concentration. Maybe that book on CONCENTRATION will give me few pointers on how to CONCENTRATE on reading one book at time. Perhaps it will allow me to CONCENTRATE on my task so I'm more efficient with my time...
Err...what the heck was I talking about again? Oh yes. The heat. Which reminds me, I should stop writing for now. The heat is getting to me. I'm going downstairs. Cheerios.
